Internet & Email
The Internet
Group has existed almost as long as BISCC. These days it is a simple Discussion
Group meeting in the home of Ray Kent on the first Tuesday of each Month. There
are usually between 12 and 20 participants so there is plenty of opportunity to
have your say or ask your questions. Over time the group has developed a
significant amount of knowledge mainly because Colin Hodges has had a large
input. It is not necessary to prearrange attendance you can just turn up.
Meetings commence at 10.00am and finish between 11.30 and 12.00. Discussion is
obviously mainly about Internet matters but often other issues are raised. There
is no cost for attendance.

Basic Training
In the past month we have had an increase in people
seeking tuition and a decrease in tutors - from seven to at one.
This led to discussing with Esme the probability of commencing Cracker
(beginner) classes but there is insufficient need for group classes at
present.
We could do with a couple of members volunteering to teach on an occasional
basis - these patient souls would teach the Cracker Course to beginner students at the library and at a time and
on a day which suits both.
The length of time would be four weeks or more and on completion it would be
expected students are then capable of moving into Arrowroot classes at Esme's
residence.
If anyone is interested in teaching please
contact Robyn Ridley on:
robyn@biscc.com
Tech-Hardware
This group deals with basic maintenance and
replacement of hardware components. If you are into upgrading your
hardware or just gaining a better understanding of how it works, then this is
the group to join.
Should you be discarding a working PC, contact Bob
who is storing PCs with a view to loaning them to beginners for practice
between instructional sessions.
